After a number of engine configurations have passed through this vehicle the owner finally landed on a small block 383 CID V8 with 4-bolt main caps that has been fully race-prepped and running a very stout 12.5:1 static compression ratio topped with a set of as-cast Brodix heads and a Victor JR. intake. Needless to say this makes for a healthy amount of power. The gears in the TH-400 are controlled via a B&M Ratchet shifter with a reverse manual shift pattern. The Ford 9â? rear axle houses 40-spline axles and a 4.56 rear gear all by Moser Engineering. Caltracs suspension components and QA1 shocks help keep the 29â?x10.5 rear slicks planted while the fiberglass body and tubular control arms keep the front end light so the low rolling-resistance of the front 27.5â?x4.5 tires donâ??t slow you down.Inside the vehicle has been stripped of anything that adds weight save for the components that keep the car running and safe. A 6-point chromoly roll bar has been ties into the factory unibody to keep the vehicle as safe as need be for most racing leagues. The welded chromoly sub-frame connectors and solid body mounts help eliminate flex for a solid launch that throws you back in your seat. This vehicle is a fantastic bracket racer as it has very consistent time slips and is sure to win you some bragging rights if not tournaments. The engine fires up smoothly and runs without a hiccup once it is properly warmed up.
