VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1969 Chevrolet Camaro for sale in O'Fallon, Illinois

For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. This has to be one of most wild orange paint jobs that we have seen! Depending on the light it will appear like a typical Hugger Orange than a Sunburst Orange to a Gold and than a crazy green. The pictures truly do not do the car justice. When the car was being rotisserie restored all of the panels were meticously fitted for clearance and proper panel alignment. Every seam and weld was sealed painted with rust preventative paint and sealed again. The body was smoothed primed sanded primed again sealed and finished with a custom tri-coat and clear coat. The clear was then sanded and then cleared again to an ultra smooth finish. The paint is truly amazing! To further enhance the look the car has a great stance thanks to a Hotchkis suspension. This includes tubular upper and lower control arms Hotchkis front and rear sway bars and two inch dropped springs in the front and rear. The wheels are by Foose and are 18 diameter wrapped in Bridgestone rubber. The original drum brakes are long gone. Slowing things down are four wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. The brakes are also equipped with powder coated red calipers and stainless steel brake lines. The 454 cubic inch big block is a stump puller to say the least. Dyno sheets show 420 horsepower to the rear wheels and 470 lbs/ft of torque! Helping this engine produce these big numbers come from hydraulic roller lifters and roller rockers HEI ignition Edelbrock Endurashine dual plane intake manifold a Holley 650 dual feed carburetor with stainless steel fuel lines rebuilt factory heads new crank rods pistons and an over bore of .030. Backing up the big block is a M-21 Muncie 4-speed transmission with a Center Force dual friction clutch Hurst shifter and a Mosier 12 bolt rear end with 33 spline axels and 3.55 Eaton posi-traction gears. All of the wiring for the car is new OEM style with the correct connectors. The hideaway headlights have been upgraded to the user friendly electrical units to replace the old vacuum operated system. Inside the impressive work continues with power windows heated leather seats an IPod connector for the stock appearing AM/FM radio and Kenwood speakers. You will also note that the exterior colors have made their way inside but very subtle. The interior has a very close appearance to original. All of the gauges are new as is the carpet and seats. During the restoration the interior was covered with Dyna-Mat OEM sound deadener jute padding and finally the carpet. The interior is very comfortable quiet and cool. To aid in cooling the interior is a Vintage Air unit. This crazy orange Camaro is a proven show winner on national levels including Super Chevy Street Machine Nationals and was invited by Car Craft to be on display at the Summer Nationals. It was also featured in Car Craft magazine in their September 2015 issue. It will also be one of the twelve high end cars featured in PPGs paint calendar for 2016.
